History:
The Toy Fox Terrier was developed in the early 1900s by careful
breeding. Their ancestors include the Smooth Fox Terrier, English Toy
Terrier, Chihuahua, and Italian Greyhound. Bred to be a companion this
breed retains many terrier characteristics and will chase and hunt small
animals.
Temperament:
The Toy Fox Terrier is an energetic breed that likes to always be where
the action is. They retain their puppy enthusiasm throughout their life.
They are intelligent but can be willful. They are suitable for
considerate children, due to their tiny size they should not be handled
roughly. They have been used for therapy work and trained as assistant
dogs for the handicapped.
