History:
This is a relatively new breed being a high bred of a Lab and a Poodle.
Bred for the smarts and charisma of both a lab and the poodle with the
likelihood of little to no shedding.
Temperament:
LAB:
The Labrador Retriever is a loving,
affectionate, lovable, patient dog. Highly intelligent, loyal, willing,
and high-spirited. Lively and good-natured, they love to play,
especially in water - for they love to swim. They have an excellent,
reliable, temperament and are friendly, superb with children and equable
with other dogs. They crave human attention and need to feel as though
they are part of the family.
POODLE:
This is an energetic and
playful little dog. It is very intelligent and always eager to please.
Poodles respond well to obedience training and can learn all sorts of
tricks. Even though some may bark, they usually get along well with
children, other pets and dogs.
Maintenance:
LAB:
They have a double coat which helps repel water, and
will shed twice a year. Labs are happiest when they have a purpose or a
job to do.
Poodle: Poodles crave interaction with people. They need a lot of mental and
physical stimulation. Obedience training will be well-rewarded. Poodles
shed their hair, but it doesn't fall out. It stays tangled in the other
hair. To avoid matting, you should comb your poodle every day. Pet clips
should be done every 5-6 weeks.
Weight Range: 55 - 80 lbs.
Avg. Height: 23 in.
Breed Origin: Great Britain
